More than one million acres in the center and south of Chile have gone up in flames since July 2016, with almost 70% of the destruction occurring last month. 11 people have died and around 1,000 houses were burned to the ground.
The shocking part of this story is that these fires were done intentionally by a group of individual, in other words, southern guerrillas. Their cause is still being defined properly, but it is believed that this group is fighting against private property
Because of the inconsistency between the people found setting fire, the feeling of insecurity is spreading around.
