This is the second project of the semester. It is still my favourite project! Going off last assignment where we have to tell a story through html language without using css styling at all, this project we get to use minimal styling like the center align tag and changing fonts. I like it because of the concept behind it, despite its simplicity, the graphic really compliment the heart-warming message of "you can be anything you want, go live."
LESSONS | Tiff saw right through me in this project, it is clear that I was very scared and afraid. I didn't trust myself to code shapes using div so I relied on my illustration skills to tell most of the story. Coding was purely a vehicle, a form, a shell, in this work, and the images being the main idea and lead.
IMPROVEMENTS | Tiff made a note about my navigation tools (the green and orange circle) and how it could have been more consistent and straight-forward. I agree. In addition, I divided the page into two half, one being the place where I tell the story and the right side being the title head. I got the idea from a book's side edge, I thought it gives the webpage a tactile quality to it. Looking at it now, it was mainly just there for decoration. It is so easy to over decorate element when you code, the challenge is to making the move purposeful. Regardless of all this criticism, I believed that this webpage still achieved my goal of taking people through a heart-warming story and brighten up their day a little!
